Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.2 Brings Better Driving, Police Interactions, and More

Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED is working to bring patch 1.2 to eager gamers as soon as possible.

The company made an announcement via its official website on March 19 teasing an upcoming series of augments to the game meant to address a variety of bugs and glitches that have remained in the game since it first debuted.

CD Projekt RED intends to fix issues surrounding the Night City Police Department and the way officers seemingly show up out of nowhere behind players. As of this patch, that strange problem should be resolved, as well as the officers’ overall behavior. The next time players have done anything to warrant police intervention, they’ll also have to deal with flying drones as well, which are new to the game.

Police aren’t the only aspect of Cyberpunk 2077 to have seen some tweaks. Cars have been altered as well, including players’ car assigned at the beginning of the game. Issues surrounding vehicular collision have been resolved as well, but in the instance there are still issues with getting stuck, CD Projekt RED has a solution for that too. It’s called the “unstuck feature,” and it will let players rock a vehicle to and fro in an attempt to get out of a tight spot.

It might be easier to outrun the police as well, should users find they need to, thanks to frame rate improvements that directly affect driving.

“When experiencing lower frame rates, our cars were harder to control,” CDPR explained. “We traced this to some code that wasn’t handling extreme changes in frame rate properly. The steering speed is now very consistent from 20 to 60+ FPS.”

As far as when players can expect update 1.2, that isn’t certain just yet, as there’s no release date. But it would be a good idea to keep an eye on all of Cyberpunk 2077’s social channels for updates.
