Swiss Skydiver defeated Kentucky Derby champion Authentic by a nose in a thrilling photo finish to win the 145th Preakness Stakes.
The filly was given 11-1 odds to win, while Authentic was the race’s favorite at 3-2. Jesus’ Team (40-1) finished third.
Swiss Skydiver is the first filly to win the race since 2009, and only the sixth ever, according to SportsCenter.
This marks the second Preakness Stakes victory for jockey Robby Albarado after winning the event in 2007. It’s the first Preakness win for trainer Kenneth McPeek.
