This Week, Celebrities Reemerged at Paris Fashion Week in Style

Fashion month’s best outfits aren’t always on the runway. Most seasons, the celebrities, influencers, and industry professionals who fill the front row provide an alternative view of the collections. Often their interpretations demonstrate how the clothes translate into real life and add another layer of excitement. This season’s focus on digital events meant fewer of these IRL style moments in New York and London, but celebrities began to emerge in Milan and Paris. Several luxury brands opted for socially distanced parties or shows conducted with added safety precautions. The guests who did venture out showed up in style. At Dior, Maisie Williams put a playful spin on the house’s anoraks by wearing a taupe version as a dress. Perfectly coordinated with her boyfriend, Reuben Selby, she gave the proceedings a jolt of youthful cool.

Louis Vuitton’s cocktail event celebrating its new jewelry collection brought out a host of beautiful brand ambassadors. Still, in a quilted mini-skirt and ruffled blouse, Alicia Vikander stood out. The Oscar winner’s demure take on Nicolas Ghesquière’s futurism felt fresh as did Congolese-Belgian singer Lous and the Yakuza’s suit and black leather overcoat combo at the same event. With its mix of glossy and matte textures, her coat was anything but basic and slung over her pantsuit it added the right amount of drama to the look.

On the streets, the vibe was much the same. Hailey Bieber kept things monochromatic in Milan with a jet black trench, paired with straight-leg jeans and stilettos, while expectant model Elsa Hosk hit the streets of Manhattan in a bump accentuating black sweater dress. Even New York’s resident style icons got in on the fun. Sarah Jessica Parker posed outside the door of her downtown boutique in an artful mix of tartan and python print that would make Carrie Bradshaw proud. New mom Chlöe Sevigny made the most of the current heatwave, stepping out in a pleated seersucker mini-dress as she grabbed a green juice.
